In instances where further diagnosis or if surgery is required, referral to a consultant orthopaedic surgeon or other specialists can be arranged for you.
The Institute of Sport Physiotherapy will report their findings and diagnosis to your specialist. The orthopaedic surgeon will then communicate their findings back to the clinic. This enables all parties to have a complete understanding of your injury, treatment and recovery requirements.
The Institute of Sport Physiotherapy has strong relationships with a number of specialists in Auckland, including orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists and GPs. In consultation with your GP, if appropriate we are able to refer you to a relevant specialist for further investigations and assessment.
We are able to keep close contact with your GP, especially if you are off work and recovering from a work-related injury.
